Role Overview
We are looking for entrepreneurial and high-impact Business Unit Heads to lead Men’s Fashion and Women’s Fashion businesses respectively for a leading value-focused e-commerce marketplace.
This is a full-stack business leadership role with end-to-end ownership of category growth, profitability, assortment strategy, seller ecosystem development, customer metrics, and cross-functional execution. The role demands a builder’s mindset, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to scale businesses in a fast-moving marketplace environment.
The incumbent will be responsible for defining the category roadmap, unlocking growth levers, and delivering strong P&L outcomes while building a future-ready fashion marketplace business.
Key Responsibilities Full Business Ownership
- Own end-to-end category P&L with accountability for GMV growth, margin expansion, and sustainable profitability.
- Drive category growth through strong commercial planning and disciplined execution.
Assortment & Selection Strategy
- Build deep, fresh, trend-right and price-competitive assortment aligned with customer demand.
- Ensure competitive parity, seasonal relevance, and portfolio expansion across the category.
Seller Ecosystem Development
- Build, scale, and manage a high-quality seller/vendor ecosystem.
- Lead commercial negotiations, improve seller productivity, and establish long-term strategic partnerships.
Customer Experience & Revenue Metrics
- Drive improvement across critical business metrics including:
- Conversion
- Availability
- Pricing competitiveness
- Selection freshness
- Trend-first launches
- Timely seasonal execution
Cross Functional Business Leadership
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Product, Analytics, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to unlock growth opportunities and improve execution velocity.
Data-led Decision Making
- Leverage customer insights, market trends, and business analytics to identify white spaces and growth opportunities.
- Translate insights into measurable and scalable business outcomes.
Team Leadership
- Build and lead high-performing category teams.
- Drive a performance-first, ownership-led culture with clear goals, accountability, and talent development.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are seeking leaders who combine marketplace sharpness with execution intensity.
Preferred Background
- 8–10 years of overall experience, preferably in fashion e-commerce / marketplace businesses.
- Strong exposure to category management, merchandising, business growth, vendor management, and P&L handling.
Success Traits
- Proven track record of building and scaling businesses, not just managing mature categories.
- Demonstrated ownership of both growth and profitability metrics.
- Strong analytical orientation with ability to deep dive into numbers and identify business levers.
- Ability to take decisions quickly in ambiguous environments.
- High execution urgency and bias for action.
- Prior experience in leading and mentoring high-performing teams.
- Deep understanding of assortment, pricing, fashion trends, and marketplace dynamics.
