Tool Analyst – Delivery Enablement (Testing & Atlassian Governance)
Reporting To: Head of Delivery Enablement / EPMO Governance Lead
Role Purpose
The Tool Analyst – Delivery Enablement is responsible for ensuring that enterprise delivery tools (Jira and related Atlassian products) are
configured, governed, tested, backed up, and optimized to support predictable, compliant, and transparent delivery execution.
This role owns tool configuration governance, workflow testing and validation, reporting integrity, hierarchy compliance, and backup/resilience
for Atlassian configuration.
Core Accountabilities
- Tool Governance & Configuration Oversight
- Maintain Jira configuration standards
- Validate workflow compliance with Jira Delivery Playbook
- Ensure issue types align to enterprise hierarchy
- Manage custom fields, screens, schemes, and permissions
- Prevent unauthorized workflow or configuration changes
- Maintain configuration documentation
- Testing & Release Validation
- Develop and maintain test scripts for workflow updates, field changes, automation rules, and reporting logic
- Execute regression testing prior to configuration changes and upgrades
- Validate hierarchy traceability and linkage integrity
- Confirm reporting accuracy and automation performance
- Certify readiness before production release
- Atlassian Backup & Configuration Resilience
- Maintain documented configuration inventory (workflows, schemes, permissions, automations, custom fields, integrations)
- Ensure routine configuration backups are performed and verified
- Validate restore procedures annually or per policy
- Maintain version history of configuration changes
- Document change logs for audit trail
- Serve as secondary administrator for Jira configuration
- Provide backup coverage for Atlassian administration when primary admin is unavailable
- Reporting Integrity & Data Validation
- Validate PMO dashboards reflect accurate source data
- Audit orphan work rates and version compliance
- Ensure Definition of Ready/Done enforcement fields are working properly
- Identify data anomalies affecting reporting
- Partner with Enterprise Reporting for metric alignment
- Compliance & Governance Audits
- Conduct recurring hierarchy compliance audits
- Audit workflow stage adherence
- Review retroactive sprint assignments
- Monitor Definition of Ready/Done adherence
- Deliver monthly governance compliance report
