About the Role
The MD heads a business whose Factory Heads, QA & QC Head, Sales Manager, Logistics Manager, Accounts & Finance Manager all report directly to me. He is looking for a Business Manager who begins by handling a wide range of tasks delegated by me, growing into a General Manager role, overseeing all non-manufacturing functions of the business. The work will span a wide canvas — from the most strategic to the most routine. This role requires the mindset of a business owner: you handle what needs handling, No task is beneath this role; no challenge is beyond it.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the MD's day-to-day priorities
• Coordinate between the me and internal teams — factory, logistics, accounts & finance
• Track commitments and action items; follow up until closure
• Assist in purchase decisions, vendor negotiations and procurement follow-up
• Support sales activities — customer follow-ups, proposals, key account tracking
• Handle banking liaison, documentation and fund flow coordination
• Assist with HR tasks — recruitment, on-boarding and staff administration
• Prepare MIS summaries, business reports and briefing notes for the MD
• Conduct research and draft communications, presentations and proposals
• Handle miscellaneous tasks as they arise — administrative or operational
Who We Are Looking For
Someone with an academic background in accounts or finance - B.Com, M.Com, MBA (Finance) or CA - who has since moved into a broader general management role, or run their own SME business sometime in the past.
• Experienced across functions — finance, operations, administration, people
• Organised and detail-oriented
• Clear communicator in English and Hindi; Gujarati a plus
• Absolutely discreet with confidential matters
• Comfortable with MS Office, Tally Prime, and business communication tools
• Looking for long-term stability — not a stepping stone
Former small-business owners or professionals who have moved from finance into general management are especially encouraged to apply.
