About the Role
We are looking for a data-driven and detail-oriented BI Developer with 3+ years of experience to join our growing team. In this role, you will be the driving force behind turning raw data into actionable, high-performance insights.
You will own the end-to-end report development lifecycle, building enterprise-grade data models and dashboards primarily across Power BI and Looker. Your focus will not just be on making things look good, but ensuring our data architecture is scalable, our queries are highly optimized, and our reporting environments are completely reliable.
Key Responsibilities
đź“Š Report Development & Data Modeling
- End-to-End Delivery: Design, develop, and maintain visually compelling, intuitive, and interactive dashboards and reports using both Power BI and Looker.
- Data Modeling: Architect and implement robust, scalable data models (e.g., Star Schema, Snowflake Schema).
- Business Logic: Write advanced, efficient calculations, measures, and KPIs using DAX (for Power BI) and leverage Looker’s LookML to build robust semantic layers.
⚡ Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting
- Speed & Performance: Conduct deep-dive performance tuning on sluggish dashboards. Optimize underlying queries, index usage, and partition data to ensure fast report load times.
- Root Cause Analysis: Troubleshoot data discrepancies, broken refreshes, and gateway issues across both reporting platforms.
- Database Optimization: Write, debug, and fine-tune complex SQL queries to optimize data extraction and ingestion processes.
🤝 Collaboration & Governance
- Stakeholder Alignment: Work closely with business analysts and product teams to translate ambiguous business requirements into technical data specifications.
- Data Governance: Maintain clean documentation for data models, LookML definitions, and report configurations to ensure a "single source of truth."
Required Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years of hands-on professional experience dedicated to BI development, data modeling, and reporting.
- Power BI Expertise: Deep understanding of Power BI Service, Power BI Desktop, Power Query, gateway configurations, and advanced DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
- Looker Expertise: Solid experience developing with LookML (views, explores, derived tables) and managing Looker dashboards.
- SQL Mastery: Exceptional proficiency in writing, reading, and optimizing complex SQL queries (joins, CTEs, window functions).
- Data Architecture: Strong conceptual knowledge of Data Warehousing principles and ETL/ELT pipelines.
Soft Skills We Value

- Communication: Ability to explain complex data relationships or technical limitations to non-technical business partners.

- Experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery).
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git (especially in relation to LookML workflows).
