POSITION TITLE / GRADE
Business Head – Surface Transportation business
PURPOSE
Responsible for P&L Management, including Strategy Development & Execution for the Surface Transportation Business.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION: Bachelors – Mandatory. MBA / PGDM / Masters will be an added advantage
LOCATION: Bangalore
EXPERIENCE: 15-20 years

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES –
The incumbent will be primarily responsible for handling all matters of the Surface Transportation business and its P&L. His functional responsibility will include Strategy & Business Development, Go-to-Market analysis, Operations, quality and maintenance, supply chain, product pricing and customer service, etc.
FOLLOWING WILL BE KEY DELIVERABLES –
- Finalization of Short-Term & Long-Term Strategies and Business Plans in association with Strategy & Finance functions.
- Ensuring Growth in terms of production and turnover. Accountable for P&L of this business.
- Mapping the Demand-Supply.
- Assisting Strategy function in evaluating various growth opportunities in the Surface Transportation space.
- Continuously mapping Competition and Sales Pricing considering the competitive scenario.
- Maintaining business relationship with key stake holders including Clients, vendors, Govt Departments and Local administration.
- Profitability Management, technical Service, Capex, Opex, Projects implementation including contracts negotiation.
- Supply Chain management, Operation excellence, R&D and New Product Development.
- Ensure compliance with all internal and external safety, environmental, and statutory regulations.
- Implementation of latest technologies and innovative items in the projects.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL-SET -
- 15-20 yrs. experience in Logistics industry with leadership profile
- In-depth knowledge of Surface Transportation business & operations
- Pan-India market exposure a plus

- Extensive experience in spearheading the entire gamut of growth and profits in the defined areas and linkages with business plans.
- Multifaceted and pragmatic transformation leader with track record of establishing and driving change in operations for excellence and efficiency.
- Ability to seamlessly interact and independently deal with employees at all levels and other stakeholders - statutory authorities, government departments, suppliers, customers etc. - an effective communicator with excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
- Is tactful in dealing with critical matters and maintains confidentiality about sensitive business information.
- Can identify proactive solutions that will eliminate or mitigate risks.
