Job Summary
We are looking for a highly experienced Pulses Industry Expert with 15+ Years of hands-on experience in pulses procurement, processing, manufacturing, plant setup, and operations. The ideal candidate should possess deep technical and commercial knowledge of the pulses industry, including raw material sourcing, mandi operations, processing technologies, plant design, machinery selection, quality standards, and end-to-end manufacturing.
The candidate should have successfully managed or established dal mills/pulses processing plants and have strong knowledge of the Indian pulses ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end setup and operations of pulses processing plants.
- Plan and execute greenfield and brownfield pulses manufacturing projects.
- Identify suitable locations for setting up dal mills based on raw material availability, logistics, utilities, and market demand.
- Develop plant layouts, process flow, and capacity planning.
- Select and finalize machinery and equipment required for pulses processing.
- Coordinate with machinery suppliers, consultants, contractors, and government authorities during project execution.
- Manage complete manufacturing operations including cleaning, grading, destoning, dehusking, splitting, polishing, sorting, color sorting, packaging, and dispatch.
- Develop procurement strategies for various pulses including Tur, Chana, Moong, Urad, Masoor, Arhar, Peas, etc.
- Build strong relationships with mandis, traders, aggregators, FPOs, commission agents, and suppliers across India.
- Monitor mandi arrivals, crop production, seasonal availability, and price trends.
- Ensure optimum raw material quality and cost optimization.
- Maintain quality standards as per FSSAI, AGMARK, and customer specifications.
- Optimize production efficiency, minimize wastage, and improve plant productivity.
- Manage production planning, inventory, warehouse operations, and dispatch.
- Lead cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, procurement, quality, and logistics.
- Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, and environmental regulations.
- Prepare annual production plans, budgets, and cost optimization initiatives.
