Job Title: Business Head
Location: Kolkata
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Business Head to lead our Commercial & Industrial solar business in India. You will be responsible for business development, P&L management, client acquisition and regulatory navigation across states. This role demands deep understanding of Indian solar policies and open access frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute India-specific CNI business strategy to achieve revenue and margin targets.
- Own the P&L for the CNI vertical, including project costing, financing coordination and risk management.
- Identify and acquire C&I clients: manufacturing plants, warehouses, IT parks, data centers and commercial real estate.
- Lead negotiations for PPAs, open access agreements, group captive structures and EPC contracts.
- Stay updated on state-wise solar policies, cross-subsidy surcharges, banking charges and ALMM (Approved List of Models and Manufacturers) requirements.
- Build relationships with DISCOMs, state electricity regulatory commissions (SERCs) and lending institutions.
- Lead a cross-functional team across BD, design, EPC and O&M.
Qualifications & Experience:
- B.Tech (Electrical/Mechanical) + MBA (preferred).
- Upto 15 years in solar/renewables, with at least 5 years heading CNI/C&I business in India.
- Proven track record of closing deals >1 MW in rooftop, open access, or group captive segments.
- Strong understanding of MNRE guidelines, net/gross metering, banking provisions and state regulatory landscapes
- Excellent negotiation, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
