SENIOR ADVISOR, EXPORT PROMOTION, NEW DELHI, INDIA

We are looking for a new team member to join our team, someone who can adeptly assist Finnish enterprises in identifying business partners within India, as well as provide expert advice on market strategies and business etiquette.

The ideal candidate will possess profound knowledge and established networks in at least one of the following sectors: Energy, Built Environment, Digital and Physical Infrastructure, Marine, and Ports.

Our goal is to build business connections for Finnish companies in areas such as:

• Renewable energy solutions – For example, hydrogen economy projects, clean energy & grid optimization, and energy storage solutions.
• Circular economy initiatives – Including waste-to-value projects, sustainable material innovations, and industrial recycling solutions.
• Smart and sustainable urban development – For example, energy-efficient buildings, smart mobility, and climate-resilient infrastructure.
• Digital and physical infrastructure – Covering smart infrastructure, IoT-based monitoring systems, and resilient transportation networks.
• Smart port and maritime innovations – For example, digital port solutions, automation, and sustainable shipping technologies.

We aim to facilitate collaborations that drive innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in these key industries.

You will be based in our New Delhi office and report to our Region Head for Middle East and India, Ms. Gitta Perez, who is also based in New Delhi. The position is permanent. The Senior Advisor will be employed in accordance with the regulations applicable to local staff in full compliance with labor laws in India.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

Your principal responsibility lies in championing and enabling the success of Finnish companies in the Indian market.

Your tasks will include:

• Following the market in your sector and identify business opportunities for Finnish companies
• Keeping up to date on the latest technology trends in sustainability and digitalization
• Working with a portfolio of innovative companies
• Facilitating the pursuit of new business opportunities for Finnish companies within the Indian market
• Working with Indian companies as they scout for innovative solutions and introduce the Finnish offering
• Building meaningful connections between Finnish and Indian companies
• Building meaningful business delegation programs for groups of companies

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

We seek someone with knowledge and networks in India’s Energy sector, Built environment, Digital and physical infrastructure, and/or Marine and ports.

In addition, we expect you to have:

• Experience and proven track record in industrial sales and market strategy
• Strong existing networks in the defined sectors and the ability to build new networks
• Good verbal & written communication skills in local languages and English
• Background in collaborating with multinational companies
• A proactive can-do attitude and ability to get things done

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This is a local employment contract. The role is based in our New Delhi office and reports to our Region Head for MEI Gitta Perez, who is also based in New Delhi.

In line with the Finnish government’s reform, Business Finland’s foreign functions will be directly integrated into the structures of the Finnish Foreign Service as of 1 January 2026. Your employment will start with Business Finland in 2025 and, following the reform, it will be transferred to the Embassy of Finland in India in 2026.
