Role Overview
We are looking for a
Business Finance Associate (D2C) to strengthen our D2C finance operations. This role will be critical in ensuring financial accuracy, managing reconciliations, identifying revenue/cost leakages, and improving unit economics.
You will work closely with business, operations, and vendor teams to maintain tight financial control while supporting scale.
This is a high-ownership role in a fast-paced, hustle-driven environment — ideal for someone who thrives in a growing company setup and takes initiative without needing constant direction.
Key Responsibilities
- P&L Ownership (D2C Business)
- Prepare and maintain monthly and weekly P&L for the D2C business
- Track key cost heads (logistics, returns, payment gateway, marketing allocations, etc.)
- Share actionable insights to improve contribution margins and profitability
- Reconciliation Management
- Manage end-to-end D2C reconciliations across orders, payments, and settlements
- Handle logistics reconciliations (forward, RTO, weight discrepancies, billing errors)
- Identify and resolve mismatches between OMS, WMS, payment gateways, and vendors
- Ensure timely closure of reconciliation cycles
- Leakage Analysis & Cost Recovery
- Identify financial leakages across logistics, payments, returns, and vendor billing
- Drive cost recovery from vendors and partners
- Build systems to proactively track and reduce leakages
- Vendor Finance & Commercials
- Support vendor onboarding from a finance/compliance perspective
- Review and approve commercials, rate cards, and cost structures
- Assist in contract negotiations with a focus on financial efficiency
- Ensure proper agreement documentation and sign-offs
- Payments & Collections Management
- Track vendor payments and outstanding dues
- Ensure timely revenue collections from partners/vendors
- Monitor and reconcile wallet balances (payment gateways, logistics wallets, etc.)
- Financial Controls & Reporting
- Build and maintain dashboards, trackers, and reporting systems
- Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and processes
- Support audits and documentation of transactions
- Business Finance Support
- Work with business teams on cost optimization initiatives
- Support decision-making through financial insights
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years of experience in Business Finance / Finance Operations
- Strong experience in D2C reconciliations (mandatory)
- Strong understanding of logistics, payment gateway, and settlement reconciliations
- Experience in P&L preparation and financial analysis
- Exposure to vendor management, commercials, and contracts
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills
Good to Have
- Experience in e-commerce / D2C brands
- Familiarity with OMS, WMS, and payment systems
- Experience handling high-volume transactions
