About the job

tal64.com is a media network focused on the Indian financial ecosystem. We profile founders, investors, and compounding businesses through long-form narrative articles — 5,000-10,000-word stories built from deep interviews, verified financials, and original research. Published on Substack. Our articles sit at the intersection of journalism, investment research, and deal-making — they open doors for transactions, investor conversations, and long-term relationships.
We're looking for an editor who can own the editorial pipeline: working with interview transcripts, turning raw conversations into structured documentary-style narratives, fact-checking every number against public filings, and producing articles that read like the best of long-form business writing.
Responsibilities:
• Read and analyse transcripts of founder and investor interviews — extract stories, quotes, and data that matter
• Write and edit long-form narrative articles (5,000-10,000 words) — chronological, intimate, third-person, with evocative section headers and real quotes woven throughout
• Produce analytical pieces (3,000-6,000 words) — argument-driven, data-heavy, precise in voice
• Fact-check claims against BSE/NSE filings, annual reports, and public records
• Edit external contributor drafts to tal64's editorial standards
• Work with visual embeds and data charts to bring stories to life
• Publish to Substack and manage the editorial calendar
Requirements:
• Demonstrated ability to write or edit long-form business or financial content — not SEO blog posts, not social media copy
• Financial literacy — comfortable reading balance sheets, filings, and earnings data
• Editorial judgment — you know what to cut, what to keep, and how to structure a story that holds across 8,000 words
• Clean, precise prose — no superlatives, no hype, no filler
• Comfort working with AI tools as part of the editorial workflow - more specifically, Claude
• Genuine interest in Indian capital markets, private credit, M&A, or venture
This is a small, high-leverage team. You'll work directly with the founder. Apply with a long-form writing sample — ideally something about a business or market.
