Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Associate with experience in the battery, EV, recycling, or energy storage sector. The role involves developing strategic partnerships, sourcing end-of-life batteries, and expanding the company’s presence across OEMs, recyclers, scrap aggregators, and energy companies.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Partnerships
- Identify and develop partnerships with EV manufacturers, battery OEMs, electronics companies, and battery distributors.
- Build relationships with scrap dealers, aggregators, and collection partners to secure supply of end-of-life lithium-ion batteries.
- Develop long-term battery sourcing agreements with industry partners.
Market Expansion
- Identify new market opportunities in the EV, electronics, and energy storage sectors.
- Expand the company’s battery collection network across different regions.
- Represent the company in industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute strategies to increase revenue through battery recycling services and recovered material sales.
- Negotiate commercial agreements with suppliers and customers.
- Track market trends and pricing of critical minerals.
Regulatory & Compliance Coordination
- Work with stakeholders to ensure compliance with Battery Waste Management Rules 2022 and EPR requirements.
- Support companies in meeting their battery recycling obligations.
Reporting & Strategy
- Prepare business development reports, market analysis, and growth strategies.
- Coordinate with operations and management to align sourcing with plant capacity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Environmental Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in the battery industry, EV sector, battery recycling, metal recycling, or energy storage sector
- Strong understanding of lithium-ion battery supply chain
- Experience in B2B sales and strategic partnerships
Required Skills
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Knowledge of battery recycling ecosystem and EV market
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Ability to travel and develop regional networks
- Strong analytical and market research skills
