About the Role
We are looking for a driven and technically grounded Business Development Manager to lead solar panel sales across key institutional segments — EPC Contractors, Group Captive consumers, Direct Industrial/Commercial buyers, and Independent Power Producers (IPPs). The role involves building and managing strategic partnerships through tolling arrangements and co-branding agreements, in addition to direct module sales.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
• Identify, engage, and convert prospects across EPC contractors, Group Captive players, C&I consumers, and IPP developers
• Drive volume offtake agreements, framework contracts, and long-term supply deals
• Own the full sales cycle — from lead generation and techno-commercial proposals to contract closure and post-sales relationship management
• Achieve and exceed quarterly and annual MW sales targets
Tolling & Co-Branding
• Develop and pitch tolling arrangements with EPC and manufacturing partners seeking capacity utilization
• Structure co-branding partnerships with regional distributors, project developers, and EPCs looking to white-label or co-brand solar modules
• Negotiate commercial terms, co-branding agreements, and IP/usage frameworks in coordination with legal and leadership teams
Market Intelligence & Strategy
• Track tendering activity (SECI, NTPC, state DISCOMs, private IPPs) and align product positioning accordingly
• Monitor competitor pricing, technology trends (TOPCon, HJT, bifacial), and policy landscape (ALMM, BCD, ISTS waiver) to sharpen sales strategy
• Provide regular pipeline, forecast, and market intelligence reports to leadership
Relationship Management
• Build deep relationships with procurement heads, project directors, and C-suite stakeholders at target accounts
• Represent the company at industry events, renewable energy conferences, and trade fairs
• Coordinate internally with supply chain, logistics, finance, and technical teams to ensure seamless order execution
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical preferred); MBA is a plus
• 5–10 years of B2B sales experience in solar, renewable energy, or related capital equipment
• Demonstrated track record of closing large-ticket deals with EPCs, IPPs, or industrial buyers
• Strong understanding of solar module technology, project economics, and PPA/captive structures
• Familiarity with tolling models and co-branding/white-label commercial arrangements
• Working knowledge of India’s renewable energy policy framework (ALMM, safeguard duties, RPO, etc.)
Preferred Skills
• Existing relationships with top EPC firms (L&T, Sterling & Wilson, Tata Power Solar, etc.) and IPPs (Adani, ReNew, Greenko, etc.)
• Experience negotiating long-duration supply contracts and multi-MW offtake deals
• Comfort with techno-commercial discussions on module efficiency, degradation, BOS compatibility
• Proficiency in CRM tools and sales reporting
