Who Are We?
NeXera Technologies is an IT and scientific consulting firm helping innovative organizations solve technical and scientific challenges. Our Bioinformatics practice partners with biotech startups and SMB organizations across genomics, immuno-oncology, and gene editing to accelerate their path from data to discovery. With cutting-edge technology, we deliver RNA-seq and transcriptomics analysis, ML/AutoML-driven biomarker discovery, molecular generation and virtual screening, ADMET prediction, molecular dynamics simulation, protein/enzyme design, and scientific knowledge graphs, backed by experienced offshore/onshore talent.
We are early in building a repeatable outbound engine for this practice, and we're looking for a driven, curious Business Development Representative to help us get there.
The Opportunity
This is a foundational hire for NeXera's bioinformatics go-to-market motion. You'll work closely with delivery leadership to identify, engage, and qualify biotech companies that need external bioinformatics expertise, building a pipeline that becomes the backbone of our growth in the US and Europe.
You'll operate across genomics data services and computational drug discovery/AI infrastructure, learning to tailor your outreach, messaging, and qualifying questions.
What You'll Accomplish
- Generate qualified discovery appointments through strategic outbound prospecting: email sequences, LinkedIn outreach, cold calling, and targeted research using sources like Apollo.io, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, BioSpace, Fierce Biotech, and funding/hiring trigger events.
- Identify, prioritize, and nurture accounts within our Ideal Customer Profile: Biotech startups, Biotech SMB organizations, and CROs (roughly 15–150 employees).
- Understand each prospect's scientific and operational challenges, bioinformatics talent gaps, data governance requirements, computational infrastructure needs, and clearly translate those into next steps for our BD and delivery teams.
- Articulate NeXera's bioinformatics value proposition in a way that resonates with each buyer persona, from Heads of Computational Chemistry to VPs of Research.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed records of prospect interactions and account insights in HubSpot or any other CRM that we use.
- Collaborate with BD leadership to refine messaging, sourcing methodology, and outbound cadence based on market feedback.
30-60-90 Day Objectives:
Days 1–30: Foundation & Enablement: Complete onboarding on NeXera's bioinformatics service portfolio, ICP, and buyer personas. Get fully proficient in HubSpot, Apollo.io, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator. Work with BD leadership and build the messaging and sequences for all the outbound channels. Initiate initial outreach sequences and begin building your first prospect lists across the buyer’s motions.
Days 31–60: Outbound Launch & Pipeline Build: Run independent outbound campaigns at a steady cadence, targeting 15–20 new accounts sourced and 100–150 prospect touches per week across email, LinkedIn, and calls. Begin logging consistent activity and account insights in HubSpot and secure your first scoping/discovery conversations.
Days 61–90: Scale & Conversion: Sustain full outbound cadence with 1–2 scoping calls booked per week. Refine your approach based on response data and trigger-event prioritization (funding rounds, new leadership hires, IND/clinical-stage transitions).
Target: 6+ qualified scoping/discovery appointments booked by Day 90.
What We Need From You
- 2–3 years of B2B outbound prospecting experience in an SDR, BDR, or similar role: technology, life sciences, or scientific services preferred.
- Proven ability to build a pipeline through cold calling, email outreach, and LinkedIn prospecting.
- Strong presence on LinkedIn and mastery of LinkedIn outreach and nurturing.
- Working knowledge of bioinformatics or life sciences concepts, e.g., genomics, transcriptomics, drug discovery, or related fields, enough to hold a credible first conversation with a scientific buyer.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to engage US/UK/European prospects clearly and professionally over messages and calls.
- Comfort working outbound hours that overlap meaningfully with US and/or European business hours.
- High energy, resilience, and genuine curiosity about science and technology.
- A reliable remote work setup and self-discipline to thrive in a fully remote, target-driven environment, building trust with the leadership.
What Would Give You an Edge
- A degree or coursework in life sciences, bioinformatics, biotechnology, or a related scientific field.
- Hands-on experience with HubSpot, Apollo.io, or LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
- Prior exposure to selling into biotech, pharma, or scientific research organizations.
- A track record of exceeding quota in a previous SDR/BDR role.
What's In It For You
- A foundational role in building out a new consulting practice with a significant growth runway.
- Direct mentorship from BD leadership and close collaboration with delivery and scientific teams.
- Fully remote work with the flexibility to work from where you're most productive.
- The opportunity to grow into a closing (Account Executive) role as the practice scales.
