Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Business Development Representative role based in Chennai. The Business Development Representative will be responsible for identifying and qualifying prospective customers through outbound outreach, inbound lead follow-up, and research on target accounts. The role involves conducting discovery conversations, understanding customer pain points, and effectively communicating Rocketlane’s value proposition to generate interest and set high-quality meetings or demos for the sales team. The individual will maintain accurate records of activities and opportunities in the CRM, collaborate closely with Account Executives and Marketing on campaigns, and provide feedback on market trends and customer needs. The role also includes achieving and exceeding targets for pipeline generation, participating in regular training to sharpen product and sales knowledge, and representing Rocketlane professionally in all interactions.
Qualifications
- Strong Inside Sales and Lead Generation skills, with experience in prospecting, qualifying leads, and managing a high volume of outreach.
- Demonstrated Sales and Business Development capabilities, including opportunity identification, pipeline building, and relationship nurturing.
- Excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and confidently to diverse stakeholders.
- Comfort with CRM tools and sales engagement platforms, and ability to work with data to prioritize accounts and measure performance.
- Proactive, goal-oriented mindset with the ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior experience in SaaS or technology sales is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn about customer onboarding and PSA solutions is essential.
- Ability to work on-site in Chennai and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
