Title: Strategic Business Development Representative (BDR) – IoT / Industrial Software
Location: Baner, Pune
Experience: 2+ years (IoT / Industrial Software experience must)
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Strategic BDR with experience in selling IoT, industrial software, or related digital solutions. This role is focused on outbound prospecting, engaging manufacturing customers, and generating qualified sales opportunities.
Summary:
You will connect with decision-makers in manufacturing organizations, understand their operational and digital challenges, and position IoT and data-driven solutions. The role requires a mix of strong sales skills and basic understanding of industrial technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and target manufacturing companies using tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator and CRM platforms
- Execute outbound outreach via email, calls, and LinkedIn with personalized messaging
- Engage with plant heads, operations leaders, and digital transformation stakeholders
- Qualify opportunities based on business challenges and technology fit
- Generate and schedule high-quality meetings for the sales team
- Maintain accurate pipeline and activity tracking in Salesforce or similar tools
- Work closely with sales and marketing teams to improve outreach strategies
- Stay updated on trends such as Internet of Things, Industry 4.0, and industrial automation
Required Skills and Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in BDR / inside sales / business development roles
- Prior experience selling IoT platforms, industrial software or automation solutions
- Strong outbound prospecting and lead generation experience
- Ability to understand customer problems and connect them with technology solutions
- Good communication skills and experience engaging with senior stakeholders
- Hands-on experience with CRM and sales engagement tools
- Self-driven and comfortable working in long sales cycles
