Employment: Full-time, permanent
Experience: 5–10 years
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA in Marketing or Business preferred, not mandatory
About IDrive
IDrive provides cloud backup, S3-compatible object storage, remote access, and data protection solutions for individuals and businesses. Our portfolio includes IDrive Backup, IDrive e2, IDrive 360, Cloud Applications Backup (SaaS data direct-to-cloud), and RemotePC.
About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on business development professional to identify, engage, and develop enterprise customers and technology partners, primarily in the US market. The primary goal is to generate qualified sales opportunities and advance them toward revenue, working closely with US sales, product, and engineering teams.
The role also supports product marketing through clear messaging, competitive research, customer-facing materials, and go-to-market execution. This is an execution-focused position—not ownership of the company-wide global marketing strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & US Market Outreach
- Research and identify target accounts and decision-makers among enterprises, MSPs, IT service providers, cloud providers, and technology partners.
- Conduct proactive outreach through email, LinkedIn, calls, events, and other appropriate channels; personalize messaging based on customer use cases.
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads, conduct discovery meetings, understand technical and commercial requirements, and schedule next steps.
- Develop opportunities for cloud backup, S3-compatible object storage, SaaS backup, remote access, and related data protection offerings.
Customer, Partner & Sales Coordination
- Build productive relationships with prospects, customers, MSPs, infrastructure providers, and integration partners.
- Coordinate demos, product trials, proof-of-concepts (POCs), solution discussions, and follow-ups with US sales and technical teams.
- Maintain ownership of prospect communication and opportunity progression; support commercial negotiations and closing in collaboration with the designated sales owner.
Pipeline Management & Execution
- Keep CRM records current, including contacts, activity, deal stage, next steps, projected value, and reasons for wins or losses.
- Prepare weekly reports on outreach, qualified meetings, pipeline creation, POC status, conversion, and blockers.
- Collaborate with leadership to test and improve outreach campaigns, target segments, messaging, and lead handoffs.
Product Marketing (Supporting Responsibilities)
- Support product positioning, use-case messaging, competitive analysis, battlecards, sales decks, email sequences, and technical solution briefs.
- Work with marketing and product teams on launches, webinars, partner campaigns, account-based marketing, and sales enablement materials.
- Gather customer and competitor insights from sales conversations and translate them into practical recommendations.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in B2B technology business development, enterprise sales development, account growth, partner development, or a related customer-facing role.
- Demonstrated experience with prospecting, discovery, lead qualification, and measurable pipeline or revenue contribution.
- Working understanding of one or more of: cloud infrastructure, S3/object storage, data backup and recovery, cybersecurity, SaaS, or enterprise IT solutions.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with confidence engaging US enterprise customers and technical stakeholders.
- Ability to understand technical product value, coordinate cross-functional teams, and consistently follow up.
- Availability to work during US business hours from Bengaluru.
Preferred: Familiarity with S3-compatible storage ecosystems, MSP or cloud-provider channels, partner integrations, and US B2B sales cycles.
Success Measures
Performance will be assessed using quality and outcome, not outreach volume alone. Measures include:
- Qualified leads and discovery meetings with target-fit accounts.
- Sales-qualified opportunities and attributable pipeline value created.
- Trial/POC initiation and progression to qualified commercial opportunities.
- Customer and partner conversion contribution, alongside the US sales team.
- CRM hygiene, follow-up timeliness, and actionable market/customer insights.
