Job Description: Business Development & Marketing Manager – US Engineering Markets
Location: India (Remote) Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: Director of Business Development / Managing Director
About the Role
We are seeking a driven and commercially sharp Business Development & Marketing Manager to spearhead our growth efforts in the United States engineering services market — operating from India. This is a high-impact, cross-border role ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships across time zones, understands the US engineering and infrastructure landscape, and can translate technical capabilities into compelling business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify, research, and qualify prospective clients in the US across sectors such as civil/structural engineering, MEP, EPC, oil & gas, construction, or infrastructure (based on company focus)
- Initiate outreach via email campaigns, LinkedIn, referrals, and industry networks to generate a strong pipeline of leads
- Schedule and conduct virtual meetings, presentations, and demos with US-based decision-makers — including engineering firms, contractors, developers, and government agencies
- Prepare tailored proposals, capability statements, and RFP/RFQ responses in coordination with technical teams
- Negotiate and close service agreements, sub-contracting arrangements, or long-term partnerships
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing US clients to drive repeat business and referrals
- Track all BD activity in CRM software (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and provide regular pipeline reports
Marketing
- Develop and execute a US-focused digital marketing strategy including LinkedIn, email newsletters, and the company website
- Create or coordinate content such as case studies, project portfolios, white papers, and thought leadership articles targeted at the US engineering audience
- Manage US-specific marketing campaigns — paid LinkedIn ads, Google Ads, webinars, and virtual trade shows
- Monitor brand visibility in the US market and recommend positioning improvements
- Coordinate with internal design and technical teams in India to produce high-quality marketing collateral
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred)
- 4–8 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing — ideally within engineering, AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction), or technical services
- Demonstrated success in working with or selling to US clients
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills, with the ability to conduct professional meetings and presentations with US counterparts
- Comfortable working US business hours (Eastern or Central time overlap) for a significant portion of the day
- Proficiency with CRM tools, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and digital marketing platforms
- Strong understanding of the US procurement process, contract types (T&M, lump sum, etc.), and client engagement norms
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience at an India-based engineering firm serving US markets (offshore/outsourcing model)
- Familiarity with sectors such as structural engineering, civil infrastructure, MEP design, surveying, or project management services
- Existing network of contacts within US-based engineering or construction firms
- Experience with RFP/RFQ processes for US public-sector or private engineering projects
What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)
- Establish a qualified pipeline of 20+ active US prospects
- Close 3–5 new client engagements or project contracts
- Build a consistent content and outreach cadence that increases US brand awareness
- Develop at least 2 long-term client relationships with repeat business potential
