About the Role:
This is an individual contributor role within our Sales & Growth function. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving new customer acquisition, building and nurturing customer relationships, and maintaining accurate reporting of sales performance.
The role demands ownership, consultative selling skills, and a growth-oriented mindset, with a strong focus on revenue generation and creating long-term customer value.
Key Responsibilities:
New Customer Acquisition
- Identify and connect with startup founders, CTOs, VP Engineering, and hiring leaders
- Drive outbound prospecting through LinkedIn, email, referrals, and founder networks
- Convert qualified leads into customers through consultative selling
- Conduct discovery calls and product demonstrations
- Build relationships with startups and scaling tech teams
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with customers
- Ensure smooth onboarding and a seamless customer experience
- Maintain regular follow-ups and customer engagement
- Gather customer feedback and share actionable insights with internal teams
CRM & Reporting
- Manage and update customer interactions, sales pipeline, and conversion metrics in CRM systems
- Track and report sales performance against targets regularly
- Ensure adherence to company processes, policies, and sales workflows
Pre-Requisites:
- 1–4 years of proven experience in B2B SaaS sales, recruitment sales, HRTech sales, or startup business development
- Strong communication, persuasion, and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable speaking with founders and senior stakeholders
- Self-driven and able to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment
- Strong ownership mindset with excellent follow-through skills
- Consistent record of achieving or exceeding revenue targets
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience selling to startups or engineering teams
- Understanding of technical hiring or recruitment workflows
- Prior experience in an early-stage startup environment
- Experience with outbound sales and cold outreach
- Familiarity with CRM and sales automation tools
