Business Development Manager - (Solar EPC- C&I)

About the Role
Spectra Solar Power is looking for an aggressive and result-oriented Business Development Manager to spearhead our growth in the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) segment. You will be responsible for driving the adoption of solar energy solutions among large-scale industrial units and commercial enterprises, managing the entire sales lifecycle from lead generation to project commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Acquisition: Identify and acquire high-value C&I clients (factories, malls, hospitals, and cold storage units) for Rooftop and Ground-mounted solar projects.
Sales Models: Pitch various financial models, including CAPEX, OPEX/RESCO (PPA), and Open Access, tailored to the client’s financial goals.
Site Evaluation: Coordinate with the technical team for site surveys, shadow analysis, and load assessment to propose the most efficient EPC solution.
Solution Design: Collaborate with the engineering team to present optimized BOQs (Bill of Quantities) and high-yield system designs to clients.
Financial Closing: Prepare and present detailed ROI reports, payback period analysis, and tax benefit summaries (e.g., accelerated depreciation) to CFOs and Business Owners.
Regulatory Navigation: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state-specific solar policies, net-metering regulations, and subsidy schemes to guide clients accurately.
Partnership Building: Develop a network of energy auditors, architects, and industrial consultants to generate high-quality referrals.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 4–7 years in Sales/Business Development within the Solar EPC industry, specifically targeting C&I clients.
Technical Literacy: Solid understanding of Solar PV technology, inverters, and mounting structures.
Negotiation: Proven track record of closing deals ranging from 100kW to multi-megawatt scales.
Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret electricity bills and calculate potential savings based on varying tariff structures.
Soft Skills: Strong executive presence with the ability to influence stakeholders at the "Promoter" and "Director" levels.
Education: B.Tech/B.E. (Electrical/Renewable Energy) and/or an MBA in Sales & Marketing.
