About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic professional to lead and strengthen firm's Japanese Desk, focused on building strong relationships with Japanese companies operating in India and supporting Indian businesses engaging with Japan.
This role will act as a cultural and business bridge, driving client engagement, market expansion, and strategic collaboration.
1. Business Development & Relationship Management
- Build and nurture relationships with Japanese corporates, investors, and stakeholders
- Identify new business opportunities within the Indo-Japan corridor
- Actively contribute to client acquisition and revenue generation
2. Japanese Desk Development
- Support the setup and growth of the Japanese Desk as a specialized offering
- Create tailored service offerings aligned with Japanese business needs
3. Client Servicing & Coordination
- Act as the primary point of contact for Japanese clients
- Ensure seamless communication between clients and internal teams
- Assist in managing ongoing engagements and ensuring high client satisfaction
4. Market Research & Insights
- Track trends in Japanese investments and business activity in India
- Identify sector-specific opportunities (manufacturing, automotive, electronics, etc.)
- Prepare insights, reports, and thought leadership content
.5. Partnerships & Ecosystem Building
- Engage with Japanese trade bodies, chambers of commerce, and embassies
- Build strategic alliances to enhance the firm’s visibility in the Japanese business ecosystem
- Represent the firm at networking events, seminars, and forums
Key Requirements
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in Japanese and English. Preferably Japanese Citizen.
- Experience: Prior experience working with Japanese companies, consulting firms, or Indo-Japan trade ecosystem
- Strong understanding of Japanese business culture
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple stakeholders
Preferred Skills
- Experience in consulting, advisory, or professional services
- Exposure to sectors with strong Japanese presence (Auto, Industrial, Electronics)
- Network within Japanese business communities in India
