Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kolkata for a Business Development Manager. The Business Development Manager will identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships with schools, coaching centers, and other educational stakeholders. The role involves meeting potential clients, presenting Tutopia’s learning solutions, and negotiating agreements to drive user acquisition and revenue growth. The individual will analyze market trends, gather customer feedback, and work closely with product, marketing, and academic teams to refine offerings. Daily responsibilities also include managing a sales pipeline, preparing reports and forecasts, and representing Tutopia at events, meetings, and educational forums.
Qualifications
- Proven skills in business development, B2B sales, and relationship management, preferably in the education or edtech sector.
- Experience in market research, lead generation, and pipeline management to support data-driven decision-making.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to engage diverse stakeholders, including educators and institutional partners.
- Ability to plan and execute outreach campaigns in collaboration with marketing and operations teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Education, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with clear targets and performance metrics.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Bengali and familiarity with the West Bengal school education system are highly beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills, professional integrity, and a genuine interest in improving student learning outcomes.
