About Toilet Board Coalition
Founded in 2015, the Toilet Board Coalition accelerates business solutions to the global sanitation crisis. The Coalition facilitates vital partnerships between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), corporates, NGOs, investors and governments who share a commitment to achieve access to sanitation and hygiene for all by 2030 (SDG 6).
Through its sector-leading Accelerator, the Coalition provides business model coaching, corporate mentorship and access to investment to Sanitation Economy entrepreneurs serving low-income markets. To date, the Coalition has graduated 111 SMEs, impacting more than 13 million people daily and unlocking US$49 million in finance. Its 80+ Members’ diverse approach to sanitation proudly leads to essential innovation in toilet design, circular recovery of biological resources, and smart digital technologies to ensure safe and sustainable sanitation for all.

Role Overview
The Toilet Board Coalition (TBC) is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to lead resource mobilisation, fundraising and strategic partnership development in support of the Coalition’s 2030 Strategy to impact 1 billion lives through safe sanitation.
The role will focus on identifying and securing funding from foundations, philanthropic organisations, development agencies, multilaterals and corporate partners; developing and managing the funding and partnership pipeline; and cultivating strategic relationships across the sanitation, WASH, sustainability and international development ecosystems.
Working closely with the Communications and Accelerator teams, the Business Development Manager will help strengthen TBC’s funding base, develop new partnerships and represent the Coalition at relevant regional and global convenings. The role requires strong relationship-building, proposal development, strategic thinking and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently across multiple geographies and time zones.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities from foundations, donors, development agencies, multilaterals, and corporate partners.
- Develop and manage TBC’s funding and partnership pipeline, from prospecting and outreach through to proposals, conversion and stewardship.
- Lead the development of grant applications, funding proposals, concept notes and donor reports, coordinating inputs across teams.
- Build and manage relationships with funders, corporate partners and strategic stakeholders, including opportunities linked to CSR, ESG and corporate sustainability.
- Contribute to TBC’s resource mobilisation and business development strategy, tracking pipeline and partnership performance.
- Strengthen engagement with relevant WASH, sanitation, sustainability and development networks and represent TBC at key sector convenings.
- Support strategic webinars, partner briefings and other convenings that create opportunities for collaboration, visibility and resource mobilisation.
Who We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Business, Sustainability, International Relations or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in fundraising, resource mobilisation, business development, partnerships or donor engagement, preferably within an NGO, international development or social impact organisation.
- Proven experience developing grant applications, funding proposals and donor reports.
- Experience working with foundations, philanthropic organisations, corporate partners, development agencies, or multilateral organisations.
- Strong relationship-building, networking, proposal development, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in English.
- Strategic, proactive, and organised, with the ability to work independently in a remote, multicultural environment.
- Interest in sanitation, WASH, sustainability, social impact and international development.

Location: Remote, preferably based in India
