Role Summary
The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth in the watch retail segment. This position requires a dynamic professional who can execute the organization’s marketing strategy, lead marketing executives, and represent the brand in all customer and dealer interactions. The ideal candidate will possess strong marketing and sales acumen, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail. They will be responsible for leading marketing campaigns, evaluating performance metrics, and collaborating with internal teams to strengthen brand presence and achieve business objectives.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, understanding their requirements and offering appropriate solutions.
- Identify new business opportunities through market research, networking, and targeted sales and marketing initiatives.
- Expand dealer networks by adding new dealer points within the assigned territory to enhance brand visibility and market penetration.
- Act as the primary point of contact for key dealers, ensuring timely resolution of service-related queries and concerns.
Sales & Marketing Strategy Execution
- Develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies aligned with company goals and revenue targets.
- Lead and guide Marketing Executives in planning and executing promotional activities, campaigns, and field marketing initiatives.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create impactful promotional materials such as brochures, presentations, and digital content.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of marketing campaigns, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with brand objectives.
Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis
- Track market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product enhancement and competitive positioning.
- Provide insights and recommendations to management based on market observations and performance metrics.
Sales Operations & Reporting
- Manage the sales pipeline effectively, ensuring timely follow-ups and closure of opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and provide periodic sales forecasts and performance reports to the management team.
- Ensure timely payment collection from dealers in accordance with the company’s credit policy.
Team Leadership & Coordination
- Supervise, mentor, and motivate Marketing Executives to achieve individual and team targets.
- Conduct regular team reviews, provide performance feedback, and ensure adherence to company processes and standards.
- Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
Compliance & Best Practices
- Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging trends, and modern sales and marketing techniques.
- Ensure all marketing and sales activities comply with company policies, brand guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 4–7 years of experience in sales, marketing, or business development, preferably in retail, FMCG, or consumer durables.
- Proven experience in managing field teams and dealer networks.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with CRM tools.
- Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
