Role Description The Business Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. This role is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities across logistics, supply chain, and freight services, including multimodal transportation, express delivery, 3PL, and EXIM solutions. Day-to-day activities include prospecting and engaging potential clients, managing the sales pipeline, preparing proposals, negotiating contracts, and supporting deal closure. The Business Development Manager will collaborate closely with operational, finance, and customer service teams to ensure solutions are feasible, competitive, and aligned with client needs. The role also involves market research, competitor analysis, maintaining strong client relationships, and providing regular reporting on sales performance and growth initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong business development and sales skills, including lead generation, client acquisition, and account management.
- Knowledge of logistics, supply chain, freight forwarding, and EXIM services, preferably within India and the SAARC region.
- Ability to analyze market trends, conduct competitor research, and develop go-to-market strategies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with the ability to build long-term client relationships.
- Experience working cross-functionally with operations, finance, and customer service teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Proficiency in using CRM tools and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for pipeline management and reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Prior experience in logistics, transportation, or related industries in a business development or key account role is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize multiple opportunities, and meet revenue and growth targets.
