Job Description
We are looking for a results-driven
Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive growth by identifying, engaging, and closing new business opportunities in the software development and digital transformation space. The ideal candidate will have strong consultative selling skills, the ability to understand complex client requirements, and experience in positioning scalable technology solutions such as ERP systems, custom software, and staff augmentation services.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Identify and generate new business opportunities across target industries (manufacturing, distribution, logistics etc
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through outbound and inbound channels
- Conduct client meetings, presentations, and discovery sessions
- Convert leads into long-term clients through strategic engagement
Requirement Analysis & Solution Structuring
Understand Client Challenges In Areas Such As
- Sales management
- Inventory & warehouse management
- Logistics & order fulfillment
- Supply chain & procurement
- Reporting & analytics
- Translate business needs into structured software solutions and modules
- Collaborate with technical teams to define scope, dependencies, and delivery phases
Solution Consulting & Proposal Development
Design And Present Tailored Solutions Including
- Custom software development
- ERP systems
- Digital transformation initiatives
- Evaluate and recommend engagement models:
- Project-based delivery
- Staff augmentation
- Hybrid models
- Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and Statements of Work (SOW)
Sales Strategy & Deal Closure
- Strategically position services (staff augmentation & long-term engagement models) based on client needs
- Lead negotiations and close deals with a focus on profitability and long-term value
- Handle client objections effectively, including:
- Budget concerns
- Fixed vs flexible pricing models
- Delivery timelines and control
Client Relationship Management
- Build strong, long-term relationships with clients
- Act as a trusted advisor for digital transformation initiatives
- Ensure high client satisfaction and identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities
Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies
- Provide insights to refine sales strategy and service positioning
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong consultative selling and negotiation skills
- Ability to understand and articulate technical solutions in business terms
- Experience in IT services, SaaS, or software development sales
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Preferred Experience
- 3–8+ years in business development or sales in IT services/software industry
- Experience selling:
- ERP solutions
- Custom software development
- Staff augmentation services
- Exposure to manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain domains is a plus
