Role Overview
The Senior Business Development Manager plays a critical role in driving organizational growth by identifying new business opportunities, expanding market reach, and fostering strategic partnerships. This position requires a highly motivated professional with deep market insight, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to influence decision-making at senior levels.
You will be responsible not only for revenue generation but also for shaping long-term business strategy, strengthening brand positioning, and leading high-impact initiatives that contribute to sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Growth & Planning
- Design and implement comprehensive business development strategies aligned with company objectives
- Identify emerging market trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning
- Develop long-term growth plans including market entry strategies and expansion initiatives
- Conduct feasibility studies and ROI analysis for new opportunities
Revenue Generation
- Own and drive revenue targets, ensuring consistent achievement and growth
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline across multiple channels
- Lead end-to-end sales cycles from prospecting to closing high-value deals
- Develop pricing strategies and commercial proposals
Client & Relationship Management
- Establish and nurture relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients by understanding their business needs
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts
Partnerships & Alliances
- Identify, evaluate, and establish strategic partnerships and alliances
- Negotiate contracts, agreements, and joint ventures
- Collaborate with external stakeholders to drive mutual growth opportunities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of business development executives
- Set performance goals, track KPIs, and conduct regular performance reviews
- Foster a high-performance, results-driven team culture
Collaboration & Cross-functional Work
- Work closely with marketing teams to align campaigns with business goals
- Collaborate with product and operations teams to refine offerings based on market feedback
- Coordinate with finance and legal teams during contract negotiations
Reporting & Analytics
- Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reports
- Use data-driven insights to refine strategies and improve performance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field (MBA or equivalent preferred)
- 4-8 years of experience in business development, enterprise sales, or strategic partnerships
- Proven track record of closing high-value deals and driving significant revenue growth
- Strong understanding of market dynamics and competitive landscapes
- Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and communication skills
