ROLE OVERVIEW
The Manager – Business Development will serve as a key growth driver for Neo Ayushveda's international trade and export operations. This individual will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and nurturing relationships with manufacturers and foreign clients, and executing end-to-end business development strategies. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with deep knowledge of the pharma export ecosystem, strong communication capabilities, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver results.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. International Business & Trade
• Identify, develop, and manage relationships with international clients, distributors, and trading partners across target export markets
• Liaise with pharmaceutical manufacturers to negotiate pricing, availability, and product specifications for export orders
• Understand regulatory and compliance requirements for pharma exports to assigned geographies (e.g., WHO-GMP, DOSSIER requirements, COPP, etc.)
• Coordinate end-to-end export processes including documentation, logistics coordination, and customs compliance
• Monitor market trends in international pharma trade and provide actionable intelligence to leadership
B. Business Planning & Strategy
• Develop and execute comprehensive business development plans aligned with company growth objectives
• Set quarterly and annual business targets; prepare and present business performance reports to senior management
• Identify new product opportunities, markets, and distribution channels to expand the company's export portfolio
• Conduct competitor analysis and market mapping to identify positioning opportunities
C. Client Relationship Management
• Serve as the primary point of contact for foreign clients and maintain long-term business relationships
• Handle client inquiries, resolve issues proactively, and ensure a high level of client satisfaction
• Conduct virtual and in-person meetings with international clients, representing the company in a professional manner
• Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and terms of trade in line with company policies
D. Project & Team Management
• Lead and mentor the business development team, setting clear KPIs and ensuring accountability
• Track ongoing projects and orders through structured project management tools and regular review meetings
• Collaborate with internal teams including regulatory affairs, logistics, finance, and operations to ensure seamless order fulfilment
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks in the business development and export pipeline
E. Reporting & Communication
• Prepare regular reports on business pipeline, deal status, market developments, and team performance
• Communicate effectively across time zones with international counterparts via email, calls, and video conferences
• Draft proposals, capability presentations, and business collateral for foreign clients
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; multilingual ability is a plus
• Strong business acumen with the ability to plan, execute, and track business initiatives
• Proven ability to lead teams, delegate effectively, and drive performance
• Deep understanding of pharmaceutical products, export documentation, and international trade regulations
• High proficiency in problem solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail and timelines
• Familiarity with CRM tools, MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and project tracking platforms
• Strong networking skills with the ability to build lasting relationships with global stakeholders
• Cultural sensitivity and experience working with buyers from diverse geographies
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• MBA in Marketing, International Business, or related field (Preferred)
• Graduate degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or related discipline will be an added advantage
• 3 – 5 years of hands-on experience in Business Development, with a strong focus on pharma exports
• Demonstrated track record of generating revenue from international markets
• Prior experience in dealing with manufacturers for sourcing/supply-side management
• Knowledge of WHO-GMP, COPP, export documentation (COA, Packing List, B/L, etc.) is highly desirable
