Role Description The Business Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Jalandhar, Punjab, India. This role is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, nurturing relationships with existing and potential clients, and expanding Mahindra Logistics’ presence in the region for express i.e. PTL Business. Day-to-day activities include prospecting and lead generation, conducting client meetings and presentations, preparing proposals and commercial offers, and negotiating contracts aligned with company policies. The Business Development Manager collaborates closely with operations, pricing, and solutions teams to design integrated logistics and mobility offerings that meet client needs. The role also involves market research, competitor analysis, sales forecasting, and regular reporting on pipeline, performance metrics, and revenue targets.
Qualifications
- Strong business development and sales skills, including lead generation, client relationship management, and contract negotiation.
- Experience in express logistics.
- Analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, including market research, opportunity assessment, and sales planning.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in using CRM tools and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for pipeline management, reporting, and proposals.
- Proven ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and achieve revenue and growth targets in a dynamic environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Prior experience in business development or key account management in logistics or related industries is highly beneficial.
