Job Title: Business Development Manager – Specialty Chemicals (PVA)

About the Role
We're building a PVA (Polyvinyl Alcohol) chemicals vertical from scratch — and looking for someone to own it end-to-end.
This isn't a "manage existing accounts" role. You'll be identifying industries and applications for different PVA grades (textiles, paper, construction, packaging, coatings, adhesives, FMCG), mapping demand across domestic and export markets, acquiring customers, and driving the commercial strategy. The goal is to build this into a standalone business unit over time.
You'll work directly with the founder (IIM Ahmedabad alumnus, 25+ years in global trade) and have full ownership of pricing, positioning, go-to-market, and P&L.
What You'll Do
- Research and identify target industries, applications, and customer segments for multiple PVA grades
- Build the sales pipeline from zero — prospecting, technical presentations, proposals, negotiations, closing
- Develop long-term B2B relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and converters
- Manage Customer coordination, import logistics, and commercial terms
- Track landed costs, competitor pricing, and market intelligence
- Maintain CRM, pipeline reports, and monthly forecasts
- Recommend value-added products and custom formulations based on customer needs
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or Business Administration
- 2–6 years in B2B sales or business development — preferably in chemicals, adhesives, polymers, or packaging materials
- Someone who understands industrial/chemical trade dynamics and can hold a technical conversation with buyers
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to independently build a product vertical
- Willingness to travel for customer meetings and market development
- Good communication skills in English, including basic technical writing
