Role Description
This full-time on-site role, based in the Pune Division, is for a Business Development Manager. The role involves identifying and developing new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and creating strategic plans to achieve corporate growth objectives. Key responsibilities include market research, identifying potential partners, negotiating contracts, and managing business development initiatives. Collaboration with internal teams to ensure client requirements and organizational goals are aligned is essential.
Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to lead our efforts in expanding the adoption of our School Management ERP solution across educational institutions. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth, building strong client relationships, and mentoring a team of four professionals specializing in cold calling and digital marketing.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Business Development
- Identify, target, and engage schools to promote and sell the ERP solution.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients through direct outreach, referrals, and partnerships.
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations for school decision-makers.
- Perform on-field sales activities including school visits, client meetings, and live product demonstrations to strengthen client engagement and close deals.
- Client Relationship Management
- Establish long-term relationships with school administrators, principals, and management committees.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Market Intelligence
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to refine sales strategies.
- Provide insights to management for product positioning and enhancements.
- Team Leadership & Mentoring
- Lead and mentor a team of 4 members (cold calling executives and digital marketing specialists).
- Set clear performance goals, provide coaching, and monitor progress.
- Foster collaboration between sales and marketing functions to maximize lead conversion.
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in business development, sales strategies, and client relationship management
- Proficiency in market research, data analysis, and identifying growth opportunities
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Self-motivation, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities
- Understanding of the local market dynamics in Pune and surrounding areas
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred)
- Experience in technology or relevant industries is a plus
- Experience in any Edtech sales is a plus
