Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Business Development Manager role based in Madikeri. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for prospecting and acquiring new customers, building and managing relationships with individual and corporate clients, and promoting HDFC Life’s portfolio of insurance products. Daily activities include conducting client meetings, explaining product features and benefits, tailoring solutions to customer needs, and supporting clients through the application and onboarding process. The role involves coordinating with internal teams, tracking sales performance, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and company guidelines. The Business Development Manager will also participate in local marketing initiatives, training sessions, and branch-level activities to drive business growth in the region.
Qualifications
- Strong sales, business development, and relationship management skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and close deals.
- Customer service and communication skills, including clear presentation abilities and active listening to understand client needs.
- Basic financial understanding and analytical skills to explain insurance and investment concepts in a simple, accurate manner.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple client interactions, follow-ups, and reporting responsibilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and digital tools used for sales tracking, presentations, and client communication.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field; relevant professional certifications in insurance or financial services are an advantage.
- Prior experience in insurance, banking, or financial services sales is highly beneficial, especially in local markets.
- Ability to work on-site in Madikeri, with familiarity with the local language and market dynamics considered a plus.
