Senior Business Development Manager – Upwork (IT Services)

Role Overview:
We are hiring a Senior Business Development Manager to own and scale our Upwork sales channel. The role involves end-to-end responsibility for bidding, lead conversion, account management, and team handling within the IT services domain (web, mobile, SaaS, cloud, AI).
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and optimize multiple Upwork agency & freelancer profiles
- Lead bidding strategy, proposal writing, and lead qualification
- Close mid-to-high ticket IT services projects with global clients
- Handle discovery calls, negotiations, and deal closures
- Lead and mentor a team of 2–3 BDEs/bidders
- Track pipeline, revenue, and performance via CRM (HubSpot/Zoho)
- Leverage AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) for proposals, research, and outreach
Must-Have Skills:
- 3+ years of proven Upwork sales experience (IT services only)
- Strong track record of closures and account management
- Experience handling multiple profiles/accounts
- Team management experience (BDEs/bidders)
- Excellent proposal writing & communication skills
- Hands-on use of AI tools in sales workflow
- Strong understanding of Upwork ecosystem (JSS, connects, ranking, etc.)
