Job Description – Business Development Manager (BDM)

About Esscons Training AcademyEsscons Training Academy is a professional skill-development initiative backed by an active MEP Engineering Design Consultancy. We train engineering students and graduates in industry-oriented MEPF, HVAC, Electrical & Plumbing design, bridging the gap between academics and real-world project requirements.
Position OverviewWe are looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) with strong experience in the education or training industry, excellent knowledge of Surat and nearby engineering/diploma colleges, and a basic understanding of MEP / HVAC / building services.
The role focuses on student admissions, institutional tie-ups, college seminars, and revenue growth for our training programs.
Key Responsibilities -
Business Development & Admissions- Drive student admissions for MEPF / HVAC training programs
- Achieve monthly & quarterly admission targets
- Counsel students and parents on career opportunities in MEP industry
- Convert inquiries into confirmed enrollments
College & Institutional Outreach- Build and manage relationships with:
- Engineering colleges
- Diploma colleges
- Polytechnic institutes
- Arrange College seminars, Workshops, Career guidance sessions, Coordinate with principals, TPOs, HODs, and placement cells
Market Expansion- Identify new opportunities in:
- Surat
- Navsari
- Bardoli
- Bharuch
- Vapi
- Collect student data ethically through institutional engagement
- Develop strategic tie-ups and long-term collaborations
Coordination & Reporting- Work closely with:
- Training team
- Technical faculty
- Marketing team
- Maintain daily reports on:
- Leads
- Follow-ups
- Conversions
- College visits
- Provide market feedback for course & pricing strategy
Required Skills & ExperienceMandatory- 2–6 years experience in Education / Training / Skill Development industry
- Strong knowledge of Surat & surrounding colleges
- Proven experience in:
- Student counseling
- Admissions
- College tie-ups
- Excellent communication & persuasion skills
- Willingness to travel locally
Preferred- Basic understanding of MEP / HVAC / Electrical / Building Services
- Experience selling technical or professional courses
- Familiarity with engineering student mindset & placement expectations
Education Qualification- Graduate / Post-Graduate (Any stream)
- Engineering background is a plus, not mandatory
