Role Description
This full-time, on-site role of Business Development Manager is based in Bengaluru. The core responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities, developing and maintaining client relationships, managing sales cycles, and fostering partnerships. The role involves conducting market research, strategizing for market entry, and negotiating deals to achieve organizational growth. The Business Development Manager will collaborate closely with internal teams to align sales strategies with business objectives and bolster market presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in aerospace & defence markets
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (DRDO, ISRO, HAL, BEL, private OEMs, etc.)
- Track and respond to tenders on platforms such as GeM, CPPP, and defence procurement portals
- Drive the complete sales cycle from lead generation to order closure
- Collaborate with engineering teams for technical proposals and product qualification
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations, proposals, and customer demonstrations
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and identify growth opportunities
- Develop strategic account plans and manage long-term customer relationships
- Achieve revenue targets and maintain accurate sales pipeline reporting
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Aerospace / Electrical Engineering (MBA preferred)
- 5–10 years of experience in business development, preferably in aerospace, defence, or engineering industries
- Strong understanding of defence procurement processes (DPP/DAP) and vendor ecosystems
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving growth
