Business Development Manager – Infrastructure
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Growth & Revenue Ownership
- Drive end-to-end business development for the infrastructure vertical (e.g., civil, electrical, utility, telecom, data centers, industrial infrastructure, EPC, or related domains).
- Own the revenue targets—quarterly and annual—by building a strong pipeline and closing high-value deals.
- Analyze market trends, competitor movements, and customer needs to shape winning business strategies.
2. Market & Client Development
- Identify new business opportunities across government bodies, PSUs, private enterprises, and project developers.
- Build and nurture CXO-level relationships to position the company as a preferred infrastructure partner.
- Lead proposal presentations, solution pitches, and commercial discussions.
3. Tendering, Bidding & Strategic Partnerships
- Lead tender identification, pre-qualification, bid preparation, and submission along with cross-functional teams.
- Develop strategic partnerships with OEMs, contractors, consultants, and system integrators to strengthen the bid competitiveness.
- Evaluate RFPs, contract terms, and technical documents to ensure compliance and feasibility.
4. Cross-Functional Leadership
- Work closely with engineering, project execution, legal, finance, and supply chain teams to deliver technically and commercially viable solutions.
- Bring customer intelligence into product/solution refinement and innovation.
5. Governance, Reporting & Forecasting
- Maintain transparent reporting of pipeline, forecasting, and business metrics using CRM and BD dashboards.
- Track deal progress, manage risks, ensure timely escalations, and maintain accountability until project award.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of infrastructure ecosystems: construction, utilities, EPC, industrial, or similar sectors.
- Proven track record of winning mid-to-large scale infrastructure deals.
- Excellent networking and relationship-building skills with government and private sector stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen: pricing, contracts, tendering, financial models.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to drive multi-stakeholder collaboration and influence decision-making.
- Entrepreneurial mindset—proactive, resilient, and target-driven.
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology preferred (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or related).
- MBA in Marketing / Business Strategy is an added advantage.
Experience Required
- 6–12 years of experience in business development, sales, tender management, or strategic partnerships in infrastructure or EPC-related industries.
- Proven exposure to government tenders, PPP models, and large-scale project sales is preferred.
