Overview
On behalf of a client, we are hiring a Business Development Manager to lead market expansion in India. This is a high-autonomy role, acting as the first local hire responsible for building the commercial pipeline and establishing strong relationships within the manufacturing sector.
The role focuses on technical B2B sales, engaging with R&D teams early in the product lifecycle to secure design wins.
Key Responsibilities
• Execute the commercial strategy and build a strong pipeline in India.
• Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders across target accounts.
• Engage with R&D teams to integrate sensing technology into product designs.
• Manage the full technical sales cycle from initial engagement to design-in.
• Navigate complex customer requirements and remove adoption barriers.
• Represent local market needs and provide feedback to global teams.
• Travel extensively within India and occasionally internationally.
Candidate Requirements
• Minimum 7 years of experience in B2B technical sales.
• Background in selling technical components or engineering solutions.
• Proven experience building relationships in new or emerging markets.
• Strong ability to work independently with high ownership.
• Experience managing long and complex sales cycles.
• Degree in Engineering preferably Electrical Engineering.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Experience working with EU or US-based companies is preferred.
• Existing network within Indian manufacturing sectors such as HVAC, appliances, or industrial is a strong advantage.
• Willingness to travel frequently.
Additional Context
• Preferred locations include Bangalore, Delhi, or Mumbai.
• Interview process includes 3 stages, with the final round conducted in Switzerland with travel support.
