Role Description: This is a full-time, on-site Business Development Manager – Scientific Equipment Sales role based in Thrissur. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities across laboratories, research institutions, educational institutions, pharmaceutical companies, healthcare facilities, industrial laboratories, and quality control sectors. The role involves building and maintaining strong customer relationships, expanding the company's market presence, and driving sales growth for scientific and laboratory equipment.
Key responsibilities include developing sales strategies, conducting market research, identifying customer requirements, preparing and delivering product demonstrations and technical presentations, preparing quotations and proposals, negotiating contracts, and successfully closing sales. The Business Development Manager will work closely with internal technical and support teams to ensure customer requirements are met while delivering exceptional customer service. The role also includes tracking sales performance, maintaining CRM records, preparing sales forecasts and reports, and representing the company at exhibitions, seminars, and industry events.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development, B2B sales, and customer relationship management, with a strong track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience in selling scientific equipment, laboratory instruments, analytical instruments, testing equipment, or related industrial products is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of laboratory workflows and customer requirements across research, pharmaceutical, healthcare, educational, or industrial sectors.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and pipeline management skills with experience using CRM and sales reporting tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
- Prior experience in laboratory equipment, scientific instrumentation, analytical instruments, or precision measuring equipment is highly desirable.
- Willingness to travel extensively for customer visits, product demonstrations, exhibitions, and business development activities.
- Proficiency in digital communication tools, Microsoft Office, CRM software, and customer engagement platforms.
