The Business Development Manager – Hospitality & Commercial will drive business growth for Obeetee’s hospitality and commercial segment in Chennai and South India. The role involves building relationships with architects, interior designers, hotel groups, procurement teams, developers, and commercial clients to generate enquiries, secure specifications, and close projects.
The ideal candidate should have experience in B2B or project sales, preferably in hospitality interiors, flooring, furnishings, building materials, luxury décor, or other specification-led categories.
Responsibilities
- Drive sales and business development for the hospitality and commercial segment in Chennai and assigned markets.
- Identify new opportunities across hotels, resorts, serviced apartments, offices, luxury residences, and commercial projects.
- Build strong relationships with architects, interior designers, hotel owners, consultants, procurement teams, and developers.
- Generate specifications, conduct presentations, and promote customized carpet and rug solutions.
- Manage the sales cycle from lead generation and proposal submission to negotiation, closure, and payment follow-up.
- Coordinate with internal design and production teams on sampling, quotations, timelines, and project execution.
- Track market trends, competition, and upcoming project opportunities.
- Manage key accounts and drive repeat business.
- Maintain pipeline reports, forecasts, MIS, and commercial documentation
Experience
- 3–7 years of experience in business development, project sales, or key account management.
- Preferred background in hospitality interiors, commercial flooring, carpets/rugs, furniture, furnishings, décor, building materials, or luxury interiors.
- Experience in specification-led sales and project business will be an advantage.
- Strong network in Bangalore’s hospitality, architecture, or design ecosystem is preferred.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field, MBA/PGDM preferred.
