Job details:
We work across hospitality, food, experiences, real estate, strategy, design and operations to help build better businesses and experiences.
We are looking for a Business Development & Partnerships Lead to build and lead Paxika's client acquisition engine.
The Role
You will be responsible for bringing the right opportunities to Paxika and converting them into business.
This is not a traditional sales role. You will work directly with founders, hotel owners, restaurant operators, developers, investors, architects, designers and other decision-makers across the hospitality ecosystem.
Your job is to identify opportunities, start conversations, build relationships, understand business problems, position Paxika's capabilities and ultimately close engagements.
You will have significant ownership over the pipeline and will be expected to build your own methods of generating business.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of potential Paxika clients
- Identify hospitality businesses, founders, investors and developers who could benefit from Paxika
- Conduct targeted outbound outreach through email, LinkedIn, calls, introductions and partnerships
- Develop relationships with hospitality decision-makers
- Convert inbound enquiries into qualified opportunities
- Understand client requirements and identify relevant Paxika services
- Lead commercial conversations and follow-ups
- Prepare and present proposals in collaboration with the Paxika team
- Negotiate and close engagements
- Develop strategic partnerships that can generate recurring business
- Build referral networks across hospitality, real estate, architecture, design and investment
- Maintain accurate CRM and pipeline records
- Track conversion rates, deal values and business development performance
- Continuously experiment with new channels, markets and methods of acquiring clients
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is commercially driven, articulate and exceptionally good at building relationships.
You should have:
- 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, partnerships, consulting or a related role
- Proven experience generating and closing business
- A strong understanding of relationship-led sales
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Confidence speaking with senior decision-makers
- Strong negotiation and follow-up skills
- The ability to identify commercial opportunities where others may not
- A structured approach to pipeline management
- The ability to work independently and take ownership
- A genuine interest in hospitality, food, travel, real estate or experiences
Strongly Preferred
Experience working with one or more of:
- Hotels and resorts
- Restaurants and F&B businesses
- Hospitality real estate
- Architecture and design
- Real estate development
- Consulting
- Luxury or premium consumer businesses
- Investors or family offices
Existing relationships within the hospitality ecosystem will be a significant advantage.
What Success Looks Like
You will be successful if you can consistently:
Find → Qualify → Develop → Convert → Close
the right opportunities for Paxika.
Your performance will ultimately be measured by qualified opportunities generated, conversion rates and revenue brought into the business.
This is a role for someone who wants to build the business development function, not simply execute someone else's sales process.
Compensation
Performance-based compensation.
The structure will include incentives linked to business generated and successfully closed.
Compensation will be discussed based on experience, network, demonstrated ability and the commercial value you can create.
Who This Is For
This role is suited to someone who is comfortable with ambiguity, enjoys meeting people, understands how businesses work and is motivated by creating opportunities from scratch.
You should be comfortable hearing "no", following up anyway, and finding a better way to open the conversation.
If you already have a strong network in hospitality and know how to turn relationships into business, we'd like to hear from you.
