Job details:
OriginBluy is hiring a Business Development in Mumbai to sell our leadership development work to Heads of HR and Heads of L&D, and to own every engagement from the first meeting to closure.
About OriginBluy:
OriginBluy is a leadership development company. We design and deliver executive coaching, developmental journeys, and workshops for senior leaders.
Our clients include Big 4 and Big 3 consulting firms, Fortune 500 companies, leading Indian conglomerates, and PSUs.
We work with a panel of more than 100 coaches in India and across the globe. Our processes for executive coaching, developmental journeys, and workshops have been built over years of delivery.
The Role:
This is a sales role, and we want an L&D professional in it. Our buyers are Heads of HR and Heads of L&D. They know within minutes whether the person across the table understands their work.
You will build the relationship, understand the need, send the proposal, and close the business. You own every opportunity end to end, and you do whatever the sale requires at each step.
About half your time will be with clients, in their offices and at HR and L&D events. The rest goes into shaping solutions, writing proposals, and following up.
You will sell everything we offer. You will have behind you the coach panel, the processes, and the client record we have built over the years.
What will you do?
You own the business end to end, from the first conversation to closure.
• Meet clients and build relationships. You meet Heads of HR and Heads of L&D in person and become the person they call when a leadership need comes up.
• Represent OriginBluy. You attend HR and L&D events, present who we are and what we offer, and turn introductions into meetings.
• Understand the requirement. You find out what the organisation needs. You use training need analysis and competency mapping to reach the real need behind the request.
• Pitch to senior HR leaders. You present to CHROs and Heads of L&D, and you show how the work will produce a business outcome.
• Shape the solution. You choose the right mix of executive coaching, developmental journeys, and workshops, using our coach panel and established processes.
• Prepare and send the proposal. Your proposals state the business outcome, the design, and the commercials clearly.
• Close the business. You negotiate, see the contract through, and hand over cleanly to delivery.
• Grow the account. You stay close to the client after the sale and build repeat and referral business.
• Run your pipeline. You plan your own outreach, follow up without being asked, and keep an accurate record of every opportunity.
What will you have behind you?
You will sell with what we have built over the years.
• Coaches. A panel of more than 100 coaches in India and across the globe.
• Processes. Established processes for executive coaching, developmental journeys, and workshops.
• Client record. Premium clients among Big 4 and Big 3 consulting firms and leading Indian conglomerates, whose work with us you can draw on as a reference.
What you bring?
• Experience. 5 to 7 years, mostly at L&D, training, or leadership development firms.
• Deep knowledge of training. You are well versed in training, and in behavioural training in particular.
• Training need analysis and competency mapping. You have done both, and you can use them in a client conversation.
• Knowledge of how L&D works inside an organisation. You know how needs are identified, how decisions are made, and how programmes are bought and run.
• A sales record. You have sold L&D or leadership development work and closed it yourself.
• Senior presence. You can pitch to very senior HR leaders as a peer.
• Business translation. You can translate a training intervention into a business outcome.
• Relationship building. You build trust over time and keep relationships active between engagements.
• Proposal writing. You write clear proposals and presentations yourself.
• Ownership. You work independently and see every opportunity through to closure.
• Communication. Excellent written and spoken English.
Good to have:
• An existing network of HR and L&D heads in Mumbai.
• Experience selling executive coaching or long leadership journeys.
• A facilitation or coaching certification.
• Regular use of AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude for research and proposal work.
How successed is measured?
• New business closed. Engagements you bring from first meeting to signature.
• Relationships built. Heads of HR and Heads of L&D who know you and take your call.
• Repeat and referral business. Clients who come back and who introduce you to others.
What will you gain?
• Senior access. Your daily conversations are with Heads of HR and Heads of L&D at some of the most respected organisations in India.
• A strong platform. You sell with more than 100 coaches, established processes, and a premium client record behind you.
• Ownership. You own your clients and your results end to end. In a team of our size, your work is visible.
