Job Summary:
The Business Development Head will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and leading strategic partnerships for Bensun Infra Pvt. Ltd. in the solar EPC and infrastructure sector. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, managing key client relationships, handling large-scale project acquisitions, and leading the business development team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Growth & Strategy
- Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with company goals
- Identify new market opportunities in rooftop, ground-mounted solar, BESS, and government tenders
- Drive revenue generation and achieve sales targets
2. Tendering & Project Acquisition
- Lead participation in EPC tenders (SECI, NTPC, WBSEDCL, etc.)
- Oversee bid preparation, costing, and submission
- Build strong pipeline of commercial & industrial (C&I) solar projects
3. Client Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, industries, and stakeholders
- Engage with corporate clients for captive solar and open access projects
- Represent the company in high-level meetings and negotiations
4. Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and manage the business development and sales team
- Set KPIs and monitor team performance
- Coordinate with technical, finance, and execution teams
5. Partnerships & Alliances
- Establish partnerships with investors, developers, and technology providers
- Explore strategic collaborations for project financing and expansion
6. Market Intelligence
- Track industry trends, policy changes, and competitor activities
- Provide insights for pricing, positioning, and expansion strategies
Key Requirements:Education:
- MBA in Marketing / Business Development (preferred)
- Engineering background (Electrical/Mechanical) is an advantage
Experience:
- 8–15 years in business development, preferably in solar EPC / renewable energy
- Proven track record in closing large-value projects
Skills:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Deep understanding of solar EPC, BESS, and regulatory framework
- Financial acumen for project costing and ROI analysis
- Leadership and team management ability
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Annual revenue growth
- Number and value of projects secured
- Conversion rate of leads to projects
- Strategic partnerships established
- Market expansion (new geographies/segments)
