Additionally, Agrizy assists these processors in sourcing raw materials from farm-gate aggregators and FPOs, standardizing their operations and processing facilities through technology, obtaining quality certifications, and enabling access to working capital from formal lenders at competitive rates.
Role Overview
Agrizy is seeking a dynamic
Business Development Manager – Institutional Sales (Spices Category) to drive B2B revenue growth across key South Indian markets. The role involves developing and managing relationships with institutional buyers such as food processors, exporters, extract manufacturers, and FMCG companies. The candidate will be responsible for expanding new business opportunities, achieving sales and margin targets, and strengthening category presence. A working understanding of spice procurement cycles, seasonality, and pricing trends is essential to align demand with supply. The role requires strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure profitable and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive institutional sales growth in the spices category by managing and expanding B2B relationships with food processors, exporters, extract manufacturers, and FMCG companies; achieve monthly and quarterly revenue and margin targets across assigned geographies.
- Identify and onboard new institutional clients, analyze market trends and competitor activity, and
collaborate with the category team to introduce relevant SKUs and customized solutions to drive category expansion.
- Coordinate closely with procurement and sourcing teams by leveraging working knowledge of spice
seasonality, mandi trends, quality parameters and grading standards to ensure supply alignment and
margin optimization.
- Lead commercial negotiations including pricing, contracts and payment terms; ensure timely collections, monitor account profitability, and maintain strong cross-functional coordination with operations, logistics, quality and finance teams for smooth execution and reporting.
- Work closely with internal procurement and sourcing teams by leveraging basic knowledge of spice
procurement cycles, seasonality, quality parameters, and grading standards.
- Support pricing strategies by understanding cost structures, margins, and market dynamics.
- Lead commercial negotiations including pricing, contracts, payment terms, and delivery commitments.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in Spices / Extracts / Food Ingredients / Agri-processing industry.
- Strong exposure to institutional and B2B sales.
- Basic knowledge of spice procurement, quality parameters & seasonal pricing trends.
- Good understanding of margins, costing, and trade practices.
- Experience handling South India markets preferred.
