Job Description – Business Development Executive

Experience: 4-7 years in education sector sales
At Crossbeats, we're building India's leading projector brand for classrooms. As Education Sales Manager, you'll be the face of our brand to schools and coaching institutes.
What You'll Do
School Acquisition
- Identify target schools per quarter (private schools with 20+ classrooms)
- Secure meetings with principals, vice-principals, IT coordinators (warm intros > cold calls)
- Conduct on-site demos (carry portable projector, show in actual classroom)
- Understand school's needs, budget, decision timeline (consultative, not pushy)
- Create custom proposals
- Close deals
Relationship Management
- Post-installation check-ins (ensure teachers are happy, projectors working well)
- Quarterly business reviews with key accounts (principal + IT coordinator)
- Upsell/cross-sell
- Referral generation (ask happy principals to introduce you to 2-3 peer principals)
Coaching Institutes
- Target large coaching chains (10+ centers)
- Faster sales cycles (1-2 months vs 3-6 for schools)
- Volume deals (30-50 projectors per chain)
- ROI-focused pitch (projectors = premium branding = higher enrollments)
Government/Tender Participation
- Identify upcoming state education tenders
- Build relationships with education officers
- Submit tender responses (collaborate with ops team on pricing, compliance)
What You Bring (Must-Haves)
Experience & Relationships:
- 4-7 years selling to education sector (schools, coaching, ed-tech)
- Existing relationships with 30+ decision-makers (principals, owners, procurement heads)
- Track record of closing high value deals (not ₹50K transactional sales)
- Comfortable with 3-6 month sales cycles (patient, persistent, not desperate)
Skills & Approach:
- Consultative selling (understand needs before pitching)
- Demo skills (can set up projector, explain features, handle technical questions)
- Proposal writing (create professional quotes, bundles, ROI calculations)
- CRM discipline (log every interaction, follow-up tasks, pipeline management)
- Negotiation (hold pricing while finding creative win-wins)
