About Rancho Labs
Rancho Labs is an IIT Delhi-founded EdTech startup on a mission to revolutionize STEM education across India. Incubated at IHFC — the Technology Innovation Hub of IIT Delhi, we offer hands-on, project-based courses in Robotics, AI, Coding, and more for K-12 students. Founded by Anshul Agrawal and Aman Kumar, both IIT Delhi alumni, the company was built on a simple belief: every student deserves to learn by doing, not just memorizing. With a growing community of 50,000+ students and parents across India, we're scaling fast — and looking for passionate people to grow with us.
Role Overview
As a Business Development Associate at Rancho Labs, you will be the primary point of contact between our organization and the families we serve. Your core responsibility will be to engage parents over phone calls, understand their child's learning needs, and confidently guide them toward enrolling in the right Rancho Labs program. This is a high-impact, target-driven sales role that demands excellent communication, genuine empathy, and the ability to build trust quickly. You will also support outreach campaigns, follow up on leads, and contribute to the overall growth of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Parent Outreach & Telephonic Sales (Primary Function)
• Make high-volume outbound calls to prospective parents and students on a daily basis.
• Conduct structured, engaging conversations to understand parents' concerns and aspirations for their child's education.
• Deliver compelling, need-based pitches about Rancho Labs' STEM programs and persuasively close enrolments over the phone.
• Handle objections effectively with confidence, clarity, and product knowledge.
• Maintain a consistent follow-up cadence to convert warm leads into confirmed enrolments.
2. Lead Generation & Conversion
• Actively work on inbound and outbound leads sourced through campaigns, referrals, and digital channels.
• Qualify leads, prioritize outreach, and ensure every prospect receives a timely, professional response.
• Meet and exceed weekly and monthly enrolment targets.
3. Customer Engagement & Relationship Building
• Build genuine rapport with parents and students through empathetic and transparent communication.
• Serve as a trusted advisor who helps families make informed decisions about STEM education.
• Ensure a positive experience from the very first touchpoint to enrolment and beyond.
4. Sales Pitch Development & Product Knowledge
• Develop a thorough understanding of all Rancho Labs programs, their structure, outcomes, and USPs.
• Collaborate with the team to refine and personalize sales scripts and pitch decks for different parent segments.
• Stay updated on STEM education trends to speak credibly and confidently with parents.
5. Market Research & Strategy Support
• Identify potential lead pools through online research, community networks, and referral programs.
• Share on-ground insights with the team to help refine targeting and outreach strategies.
6. Feedback Collection & Continuous Improvement
• Capture and document parent feedback from every interaction to improve communication and product positioning.
• Share recurring concerns or queries with the product and curriculum team for alignment.
7. Sales Reporting & CRM Management
• Log all interactions, lead statuses, and follow-up actions accurately in the CRM system.
• Prepare daily and weekly performance reports tracking call volumes, conversion rates, and enrolment numbers.
• Proactively flag pipeline risks and opportunities to the manager.
Qualifications & Skills
Educational Background
• Bachelor's degree (completed or pursuing) in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Mass Communication, or a related field.
Communication Skills
• Exceptional verbal communication skills in Hindi and English — the ability to switch between languages naturally during a call is essential.
• Strong listening skills with the ability to read parent sentiment and adapt the conversation accordingly.
• Clear, confident, and persuasive written communication for emails and messaging.
Sales & Interpersonal Skills
• Demonstrated ability (through internships, part-time roles, or academics) to persuade, pitch, and close — or a strong enthusiasm and willingness to develop this skill fast.
• High degree of empathy, patience, and the ability to build trust quickly with parents from diverse backgrounds.
• Resilience and a positive attitude in a target-driven environment.
Technical Proficiency
• Comfortable using CRM tools (Zoho, HubSpot, Leadsquared, or similar) to log and manage leads.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for reporting and communication.
Mindset & Attributes
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working with daily/weekly/monthly targets.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and a genuine interest in education and student development.
• Ability to multitask across calls, follow-ups, and documentation without compromising quality.
What We Offer
• Competitive salary(3-5 LPA) with attractive performance-based incentives.
• Structured onboarding and ongoing sales training to set you up for success.
• A collaborative, high-energy team that genuinely cares about your growth.
• Direct exposure to business development, customer communication strategy, and ed-tech growth.
• The opportunity to make a real impact — every enrolment you close is a student whose future you've helped shape.
