Position Overview:
The Business Development Executive will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, managing tender participation, conducting structured follow-ups, and driving revenue growth across engineering and manufacturing verticals.
This role requires a technically aware, process-driven professional capable of handling industrial clients, EPC companies, and government tenders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Tender Monitoring & Participation
- Screen national and sector-specific tender portals weekly (CPPP, GeM, PSU portals, Nuclear & Defense portals).
- Identify relevant tenders in Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Defense, Space, and Heavy Engineering sectors.
- Prepare tender summary sheets and coordinate Go/No-Go decisions.
- Support preparation of techno-commercial proposals and qualification documents.
2. Lead Generation & Client Acquisition
- Identify and target EPC contractors, OEMs, integrators, and plant operators.
- Generate new leads via LinkedIn outreach, cold calling, and email campaigns.
- Develop sector-specific client pipelines.
3. Follow-ups & Enquiry Management
- Conduct structured follow-ups on:
- Submitted quotations
- Budgetary offers
- Closed enquiries
- Maintain CRM with updated status (Hot/Warm/Cold classification).
- Analyze lost enquiries and identify improvement areas.
4. Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Schedule and conduct client meetings (online and onsite).
- Deliver customized capability presentations.
- Prepare and share Minutes of Meeting (MOM).
- Develop long-term retainer and collaboration opportunities.
5. Proposal & Commercial Coordination
- Coordinate with engineering and costing teams for proposal preparation.
- Ensure scope clarity and commercial alignment.
- Support pricing strategy discussions.
6. Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Maintain weekly activity tracker.
- Submit weekly BD performance reports.
- Track revenue projections and conversion ratios.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Industrial Engineering / MBA (Marketing preferred)
- 0–2 years of experience in industrial B2B sales or marketing
- Experience in handling government tenders or industrial clients preferred
Required Skills:
- Understanding of engineering drawings and industrial terminology
- Knowledge of tender documentation process
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- CRM discipline and structured reporting ability
- Ability to interact with technical teams and procurement heads
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and email communication
