Business Development Executive – Retail Expansion
Location: Bangalore, Karnataka (pan-India travel)
Experience :- 4–7 Years | Sportswear / Footwear
Compensation:- ₹8–10 Lakhs (CTC)
Reports to:- Head of Business Development / Country Manager
About the Role
Xtep, a leading global sportswear brand listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, is scaling its India retail footprint. We’re looking for a results-driven BD professional to scout and secure new retail doors, drive store launches, and expand Xtep’s distribution network nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
• Scout and onboard new retail doors – MBOs, LFRs, department stores, and sports speciality outlets across key Indian markets.
• Lead end-to-end EBO store launches: site identification, lease negotiation, fit-out coordination, and opening execution.
• Build a robust prospect pipeline through market visits, trade shows, and industry networking.
• Conduct location feasibility studies, catchment analysis, and competitive mapping.
• Negotiate trade terms, margins, and credit policies with retail partners.
• Develop and execute the annual retail expansion plan; achieve new-door and revenue targets.
• Track competitor strategies and prepare market reports and expansion forecasts for leadership.
• Maintain CRM data and serve as the primary partner contact during onboarding and initial sell-through.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in business/marketing (MBA preferred).
• 4–7 years in business development or retail expansion within sportswear, footwear, or athleisure.
• Strong knowledge of India’s retail ecosystem – MBOs, LFRs, EBOs, franchise models, and distribution networks.
• Proven track record of opening new retail doors and managing store launch projects.
• Excellent negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel 60–70% across India.
• Fluent in English and Hindi; regional language skills are a plus.
