Business Development Executive – Data Lakehouse & Modern Data Platforms
The Role
We’re hiring an Business Development Executive to own the full sales cycle—from prospecting to close—for mid-market and enterprise customers. You’ll partner with Solutions Engineering and product to run high-quality discovery, deliver compelling value, and close strategic deals.
What You’ll Do
- Own a quota and drive end-to-end sales execution (prospect → discovery → demo/POC → close)
- Build pipeline via outbound, partners, events, and marketing-driven leads
- Run consultative discovery with data leaders (CIO/CTO, VP Data, Head of Analytics, Data Engineering)
- Coordinate product demos and POCs with Solutions Engineering
- Develop account plans, multi-thread relationships, and manage complex stakeholders
- Create proposals, negotiate commercial terms, and manage procurement/security reviews
- Forecast accurately and maintain disciplined CRM hygiene (Salesforce/HubSpot)
What We’re Looking For (Must-Have)
- 3–8+ years of B2B SaaS selling experience in a closing role (AE/full-cycle)
- Consistent track record of hitting quota and managing complex deal cycles
- Strong discovery and value-based selling skills (MEDDICC, SPICED, or similar)
- Ability to sell to technical + business stakeholders with clear ROI messaging
- Excellent communication, follow-up discipline, and deal management
Nice to Have
- Experience selling: data platforms, lakehouse/warehouse, ETL/ELT, BI, governance, security, cloud infrastructure
- Familiarity with the ecosystem: Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Iceberg, Spark, Trino/Presto, dbt, Kafka, Fivetran
- Experience closing multi-year agreements and navigating enterprise procurement
