THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for developing and growing the India business from the ground up.
The successful candidate will play a key role in:
- building distributor networks
- expanding sales channels
- driving GTM strategies
- developing imported FMCG product distribution
- accelerating market penetration across India.
This role is ideal for candidates who are entrepreneurial, commercially aggressive, and experienced in scaling distribution businesses within complex FMCG environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESIndia Market Expansion
- Develop and execute strategic business plans for the India market.
- Identify new market opportunities, distribution channels, and business partnerships.
- Drive expansion of imported FMCG/food products across India.
Distributor & Channel Development
- Build and manage nationwide distributor and channel partner networks.
- Expand General Trade (GT), Modern Trade (MT), HORECA, and institutional channels.
- Strengthen route-to-market (RTM) effectiveness and market coverage.
Sales & Commercial Growth
- Drive revenue growth and achieve annual business targets.
- Develop sales expansion strategies and market penetration initiatives.
- Monitor market performance, distributor effectiveness, and sales KPIs.
Imported Product Distribution
- Support commercialization and distribution of imported FMCG products within India.
- Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders regarding market entry execution, product launches, and channel strategy.
- Work with distributors and partners to optimize imported product positioning and market growth.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, pricing strategies, and consumer behavior.
- Identify growth opportunities and recommend business expansion initiatives.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and develop high-performing sales and distribution teams.
- Build a strong execution-driven commercial culture.
REQUIREMENTSExperience
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in:
- FMCG
- food & beverage
- consumer goods
- distribution/trading businesses.
- Strong background in:
- distributor development
- GTM execution
- channel expansion
- sales leadership
- market development.
- Proven track record in building markets and expanding businesses from zero-base operations.
- Experience working with trading/distribution companies handling imported FMCG or food products is highly preferred.
- Experience managing imported product portfolios or international brand distribution within India is a strong advantage.
Preferred Industry Exposure
