About NexMind Advisory
NexMind Advisory is a boutique strategic market intelligence and advisory firm built on more than two decades of leadership experience across global research and consulting organisations. We help businesses convert rigorous research into confident decisions across market opportunity, growth, go-to-market, customer insights, brand, pricing, competitive intelligence, product evaluation and customer experience
Role Purpose
The Business Development Consultant will own the front end of NexMind Advisory's growth engine-from prospect identification and qualification to credential presentation, proposal facilitation, follow-up and closure. Working closely with the Founder, the consultant will convert relevant corporate conversations into commissioned research and advisory assignments.
Key Responsibilities
- Build a strong sales pipeline: Identify target organisations and senior decision-makers, generate leads through professional networks, referrals, LinkedIn, industry forums and structured outreach, and maintain accurate pipeline records.
- Qualify and assess opportunities: Evaluate each lead based on business need, decision-making authority, budget availability, project timeline and strategic fit before presenting the opportunity to the Founder.
- Conduct discovery and present NexMind Advisory: Understand the prospect’s business challenges, research requirements, expected outcomes, stakeholder expectations and procurement process, while confidently presenting NexMind Advisory’s credentials, capabilities and value proposition.
- Coordinate Founder engagement and proposal development: Arrange discussions between qualified prospects and the Founder, prepare clear opportunity briefs, collect inputs for scope development and support the presentation of methodology, deliverables, timelines and commercials.
- Drive follow-up, closure and account growth: Maintain consistent follow-up, address client queries in coordination with the Founder, move opportunities towards formal commissioning and identify possibilities for repeat business, cross-selling and referrals.
Candidate Profile
Five to seven years of B2B sales, business development, client acquisition or key-account development experience.
Experience in market research, analyst services, business intelligence, consulting, data and analytics, or another knowledge-led professional-services environment is strongly preferred.
MBA / PGDM or equivalent postgraduate management qualification with specialisation in Marketing.
Working understanding of research based consulting, primary and secondary research, qualitative and quantitative approaches, research deliverables, and the business value of insight.
● Demonstrated ability to engage senior stakeholders and manage a complete consultative sales cycle-from prospecting and qualification through proposal, negotiation and closure.
● Strong professional network among corporate decision-makers will be an advantage.
● Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, negotiation, relationship-management and follow-through skills.
● Self-directed, entrepreneurial and comfortable operating with autonomy in an early-stage, performance-oriented environment.
Core Competencies
● Consultative selling - Connect a client's business problem with an appropriate research or advisory solution rather than relying on transactional selling.
● Commercial judgement - Evaluate opportunity quality, revenue potential, competitive context and the likelihood of conversion.
● Executive communication - Represent NexMind Advisory credibly with senior marketing, strategy, insights, product, innovation and business leaders.
● Persistence with professionalism - Sustain disciplined follow-up across long B2B decision cycles without compromising client relationships.
● Ownership and integrity - Take responsibility for outcomes while protecting client confidentiality, intellectual property, pricing and internal business information.

Compensation & Engagement Structure
As NexMind Advisory is currently in its early growth stage, this role will be offered as an independent, incentive-based consulting engagement without a fixed salary or any other payment.
The consultant will receive a 15% success incentive on the total contracted value of every eligible research or advisory project successfully secured through their efforts.
Illustration - For a project commissioned at ₹10,00,000, the consultant's total incentive will be ₹1,50,000.
No payment will be made unless a project is successfully acquired.
Indicative incentive release schedule
Incentive payments will be released proportionately in line with the client's agreed payment milestones and only after the corresponding payment is actually received by NexMind Advisory.

Client payment terms may vary by assignment. The consultant's incentive release will mirror the actual payment structure and receipts applicable to the specific project by the client.
Incentive Eligibility & Payment Principles
● An incentive becomes payable only when an eligible project has been formally commissioned and NexMind Advisory has received the related client payment.
● Incentive tranches will be proportionate to actual receipts. Delayed client payments will correspondingly delay the related incentive release.
● Any reduction in project scope or value, cancellation, credit note, refund, non-payment or write-off will result in a proportionate adjustment to the incentive.
● The formal consulting agreement will define the treatment of GST, reimbursable expenses, pass-through costs, statutory deductions, invoicing and taxation.
● No incentive is payable merely for sharing a contact, arranging an introductory meeting or submitting a proposal unless the opportunity converts into an eligible commissioned project and payment is received.
Opportunity Attribution & Governance
To ensure transparency, every opportunity introduced or developed by the consultant must be recorded with NexMind Advisory at the earliest stage. Incentive eligibility will be determined using the firm's opportunity records and the consultant's demonstrable contribution to qualification, relationship development, proposal facilitation, follow-up and closure.
● Opportunities already under active discussion with NexMind Advisory before the consultant's involvement will not automatically qualify for the full incentive.
● Where an opportunity is jointly developed by multiple contributors, the applicable attribution and incentive-sharing arrangement will be documented before proposal submission or as soon as practicable.
● The consultant must maintain confidentiality and may not make commitments on methodology, pricing, timelines, legal terms or delivery capability without authorisation from the Founder.
Initial Consulting Engagement & Assessment Period
The role will carry an initial two-year independent consulting engagement and performance-assessment period. This is not an employment probation period. During this period, the consultant will operate under the incentive model described above and will be assessed on business outcomes, professional conduct and long-term fit with NexMind Advisory.
● Achievement of the agreed annual business target and consistency of revenue contribution.
● Quality, relevance and conversion potential of opportunities introduced.
● Professionalism in client representation, communication, reporting and collaboration with the Founder.
● Contribution to repeat business, strategic relationships and the development of a sustainable commercial pipeline.
Why This Opportunity
● A high-reward incentive of 15% of eligible project value, directly linked to successful business acquisition.
● The opportunity to work closely with the Founder and help build the commercial function of a growing research and advisory firm.
● Exposure to diverse industries, senior corporate decision-makers and complex strategic business questions.
● Autonomy in developing the market, supported by NexMind Advisory's credentials, research expertise and Founder-led solution development.
● A credible pathway to a deeper, salary-based role as the firm and the individual's contribution scale.
