Job Title: Business Development Associate (Legal Finance & Origination)

Role Objective
We are seeking a high-caliber Business Development professional to spearhead our B2B partnership initiatives. The primary goal is to identify and originate commercial legal cases across diverse sectors including structured Debt Recovery mandates and acquisition of Accounts Receivable (AR) books/data from companies to unlock blocked working capital. You will be responsible for building a pipeline of high-value litigation funding with Startups lacking Legal team, In-house counsel’s, Finance team, and CXOs.
Key Responsibilities
- Sector-Specific Origination: Identify and bring in legal cases (Recovery, MSME disputes, Cheque Bounce case, Arbitration, IP disputes, breach of contract, etc.) Further, identify high-volume outstanding invoice portfolios, delayed payment cycles, and stressed receivables for structured debt recovery and AR monetisation from the following verticals: Fintech, Media & Advertising, Consumer Goods, SaaS, Quick Commerce, NBFCs, and Logistics Etc.
- Corporate Outreach: Engage with CFOs, General Counsels, Finance Heads, Credit Control Teams and Founders of startups and established enterprises to pitch LegalPay’s financing solutions as a risk-mitigation tool.
- Deal Sourcing & Screening: Conduct preliminary assessments of potential cases to ensure they meet LegalPay’s internal investment criteria, evaluate debtor ageing reports, receivables ledgers, counterparty creditworthiness, recovery probability, and enforceability before handing them off to the underwriting team.
- Market Intelligence: Stay updated on sector-specific regulatory changes (e.g., RBI guidelines for NBFCs or new SaaS compliance laws) that could trigger legal disputes or funding needs.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 2–3 years in Business Development, Corporate Sales, or Legal Sales, Exposure to Debt Recovery, Credit Risk, Accounts Receivable Management, or B2B Collections ecosystem will be an added advantage. (experience in Fintech or LegalTech is a major plus).
- Sector Expertise: Proven track record of navigating the corporate landscape in at least 3 of the target sectors (e.g., SaaS, Logistics, or NBFCs).
- Communication: Exceptional negotiation and presentation skills; ability to explain complex financial/legal products to non-legal stakeholders.
- Education: LL.B but strong sales DNA is the priority.
Performance Indicators (KPIs)
1. Lead Generation: Number of qualified cases/ AR Books submitted for evaluation per month.
2. Conversion Rate: Percentage of sourced cases that reach the funding stage.
3. Partnership Depth: Number of active "Inflow Partnerships" (firms/companies that regularly refer cases).
